This morning while checking for reviews of my New Adult Romance, Tell Me a Secret, I discovered my reference book, Strong Verbs Strong Voice, was #1 Best Seller on Amazon!!
Are you impressed? Don’t be. I’m not sure how many books are in the categories of Vocabulary, Slang and Word Lists, and Writing Reference, but it can’t be many.
I knew the book was selling because my manager…Tom, aka, my husband, checks my book sales every morning! I just didn’t know it was going well enough to get a ranking.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m thrilled about the status, but you must understand, when you have a book in an obscure category, it can soar in rankings, so it’s a bit misleading.
Anyway, I just checked and it’s already slipped to #2. Since they update those rankings every hour, I thought I’d better claim best seller status while I could!!
Now I wonder if this is like an author reaching the NYT or USA Best Seller list with only one book, yet will always be listed as a Best Seller on every future book.
Can I now forevermore claim Amazon best seller status even if it was only for a few days?
I think not. :+)
